Maybe if some of you had learned from him you might have a clue. I have seen teams shut down by not throwing the ball and running it up. Examine who you defend. SU DOG and Big Dog I know it's all ahead of us and I need move on. I don't know if I have ever been so dissapointed in the results of a SU football game but it's time to let go and move on.

Who mentioned La-Monroe? I just remember the feelings the fans and others associated with the football program had after the last two years vs Ole Miss and UCF. And that is the kind of stuff Samford football needs to build fan support, not blowouts like yesterday. True, you can not predict with precision where a program will be 3-4 years down the road. But there is certain predictors that give a good idea.

In basketball, some have posted that the schedule this year is the best in a while because there is no obvious blowouts scheduled. Creighton is a guarantee game, but the team has a chance to make it a good game. I am just saying the same makes sense in football.

GO BULLDOGS!

I may be in the minority here, but I want to play the most storied programs we can in the most storied, legendary stadia we can, that is an easy trip for the 2-3000 SU fans who WILL make the trip, health allowing. I want an injury free game. I want good execution, consistent effort from our team. I want 85-100K in the stands, with all the big-time pagentry that is associated with the game...I want our kids to experience that...I want to experience that. And I want us to get a big old fat check for doing so.

I prefer not taking the wrong ramp and then having to climb 57 rows to my seat on R-67, but that was my fault. But I expect a similar seat next year in Auburn, so I guess it was good practice...well, come to think of it I did that climb for years until Samford games became my priority rather than AU.

Just because we don't hate Jimbo, that's supposed to mean that we don't care about being blown out?? I care, but frankly I just don't blame Jimbo. I don't too much blame us either. They just had amazing speed and made big plays out of short passes and runs up the middle. If you took away the the second wuarter, we would have played a much more respectable game, that was our undoing.

The complaining about the hits frankly is pretty silly too. the replays on a couple of those hits showed that the calls were borderline at best. We ourselves got away with some pretty vicious hits, including one blindside ear hole hit that left the FSU defender flat on his back, seeing stars, and luckily it was a no call - personally I loved that hit and replayed it several times. The idea that coaches are teaching helmet to helmet hits given the emphasis that officials are starting to place on them this year is ridiculous, I just don't buy it.

All we are saying is Saturday was what it was, and it is time to put it in the rear view and get excited about taking this embarrassment out on poor Northwestern State. I'd hate to be them when these angry Bulldogs get a hold of them. Coach Sullivan's comments after the game are exactly what needed to be said. We are hurting, but we need to be honest with ourselves about what happened and why it happened, the incredible speed advantage of FSU had a lot to do with it, and that when the guys look at the film, they will find some things to be positive about, even in a blow out like this. It's not a matter of not caring, it's a matter of realizing that this blow out loss needn't define us as long as we get better from here! You should be happy Butkuss, because nobody is down on the coaches, because I think they called plays that against almost any other team including some of the FBS schools we played recently, would have worked a lot better. I saw several plays that seemed to open they way there were designed and then got shut down because of the great recover speed some of these guys had - nothing the coaches or players could do about it. Let's get better, let's get mad, and then let's put a righteous beat down on NSU!!!!! That'll make us all feel better!

Just wait a minute Butkuss. For one thing I think 77SU DID mention the helmet to helmet. The other thing is that I have been nauseated and not felt like eating and last night I had a miserable time trying to sleep. I for one feel like I took a beating, and I only watched on TV. I'm sure I'm not the only Samford Fan that has been affected. Be that as it may, we can only look ahead and realize that our goals are all still there. Granted, we didn't look like a playoff team by any stretch, but we need to get behind our players, focus on Northwestern State, and plan to kick some SoCon tail. What about it?
