The ACC has 12 teams. I can think of a half dozen teams that would be better for Samford to play than Florida State. What about any of the North Carolina schools? What about Virginia? 2008 and 2009 were fine with Ole Miss and Central Florida. And if i am not mistaken, Central Florida paid us $300K+. Next year Samford plays Auburn. There is four or five SEC teams that would better for Samford to play than in-state Auburn. We moved to the SoCon to be in membership with similar institutions. We need to employ the same initiative in scheduling FBS schools. If money is all that matters then keep doing the same. But it sure is a lot more fun for the players and fans when Samford can halfway make a game of it. Just giving my opinion on a day after.

2. Florida State's Defense looked a little better, but I'm still skeptical.
3. Offense is good to go.
4. Greg Reid is a beast.
5. I can see Samfords offense being pretty successful in conference with all that trickeration. There were a lot of interesting quirks that I saw that could potentially bust a big play or two.
6. There were a few Samford boys who could really lay the wood. There were two or three bone crushing takles and one huge block that about knocked some Telvin Smith into next week.
7. Good job on the two picks.
8. I didnt get to meet any Samford fans, but I hope yall had a good experience in Tallahassee and at the Doak.

As a former FSU fan who has followed the team since the charlie ward era, I can assure you, Jimbo had no choice but to pull out all the stops today.
From 2001 on, those fans have sat through season after season of underachieving offenses. They ran bobby out a year early because they're sick and tired of watching top 10 recruits vanish into obscurity.
Jimbo has to make a statement this season and after FSU'S close calls w/ Jax St and Troy the past couple seasons, there just any chance that Jimbo was going to let his d layover.
FYI- FSU's BACKUP quarterback, Emanuel, was one of the most prized qb recruits in the nation, so even when he put the second string qb in, Samford's d was facing offensive talent that they won't see the rest of the year. I think you're all failing to look at the big picture here.

Samford looked like an above average 1-AA team going up against a legit top 20 I-A team, and the result is predictable. The offense's body language didn't change and they won't face anything CLOSE to this level of defensive speed and talent the rest of the year. We'll be fine.First of all, FSU's d-line is among the fastest in the nation and our offense still produced over 300 yards, despite the fact that Jimbo kept first string in until the fourth
Ponder is one of the most athletic qbs in the country and the score was lopsided and fsu scored on some quick strikes and special teams, but I watched the tech game on tv ,UCF in person and this game in person, and I've seen a larger, faster team each year.

Could FSU have put up 70? Yes, but this offense is MUCH better than the jeff bowden era that shackled the program from 01-07.
