Hopefully he will be OK, but the Catamount's Jarquavis Wortham, a Jr. LB was severely inured and taken away by ambulance after the opening kickoff.

Posted on the WCU board:

Wortham is ok. He got knocked out cold for 15-20 seconds and then was taken to hospital as precaution. I believe he was already released from the hospital by the time the game ended. He has feeling in all his extremities when they took him off the field.

Wonderful to hear - I never caught a follow-up on the streaming. Thanks for posting.

BTW, Cats offense looked good, but the defense could stand for some improvement IMO. One thing I noticed is that RS Soph.Michael Murphy looks pretty good at the SLB position. He caught my eye several times for being quick to the ball carrier.

Thanks SU DOG. J. WIlliams (#25) has also had some good highlights, even in the Newberry game. But it is a VERY young unit, and if Newberry and GWU had some success, that scares the crap out of me when we have to play somebody like Hodges and McKnight. Hopefully we get better game-by-game and can put up at least a little fight against the Bulldogs in a few weeks.
