HeroSports looks very optimistically at the Bears for 2019. The Samford preview will come out next Thursday.

Have you ever seen a preview that wasn't optimistic?
In an imperfect world, absolute truth is divisive. There's no unity in truth. Decide then whether truth before unity or unity before truth?

Notice I used the word VERY, and yes, some are much more optimistic than others, therefore, hopefully, these previews will give an indication of what the source expects. Of course, any preview is simply the writer's guess. Analysis might be aided by some reading between the line - subjective, but entertaining to some of us.

Here’s FUBeAR’s preview of Mercer...and, to paraphrase Judge Smails, I NEVER guess.

They could be GREAT...and I mean Deep Playoff Run GREAT...

OR

...they could be 6-5 or 5-6.

Barring injuries on O, and if the new OC has a clue (he’s shown that he does have one (or more) of those from his results at Marshall...and he’s a former OLman...so we KNOW he’s exceptionally bright), they will be tough to contain..and that’s ALL most FCS Teams will be able to do...just hope to contain them. Although, they do have to do some replacing @ WR, FUBeAR ain’t skeered. Durden is way ‘mo’ special’ (special in a good way) than Chandler Curtis was & more versatile than Irvin...with some other talented young bucks ready to break out...and they have 4...maybe 5 “TE’s” on the roster that are 6-4ish /245ish & can play in space. Riddle will have TARGETS all over the field. Oh...and 5-8/233 RB Tyray “Hammer” Devezin will make DB’s regret their decision to even play Football...while he’s carrying a DLman & 2 LB’s on his back.

Defense...um...new DC...talent seems to be there, but who knows...SEEMED to be there last year too. If they continue to channel their inner-Catamounts, like they did last year...giving it up on big plays, like an Alabama Trailer Park Girl after the Prom, AND STAYING ON THE FIELD after opponents’ 3rd downs, as if they think they are Paul Bunyan’s ox, Babe, and have to finish plowing the Grand Canyon before they can come to the sidelines...5-6 is their destiny...if that good.

Specialists & Special Teams. More questions here than on D...if that’s even possible. Lost their Special Teams GURU, Coach Grant Cain (soon-to-be NFL Special Teams Coach of the Year...and a GREAT guy) to those canines up in Harrisonburg, VA...and their 45 year old Awesome Aussie Punter...and Ice Cole Fisher, their rock-solid kicker...and their 3-year Long Snapper will be playing in Sanford (not SaMford) Stadium with Dylan Fromm’s brother this Fall. Some young talent there...but “YOUNG Specialists” is often just another phrase for “Another Frappin’ Close L.” Specialists / Special Teams suck &...yep, 5-6...even if the Defense does find their stride.

In summary...

1) No catastrophic injuries on O, Defense gels, and Specialists/Special Teams don’t suck, Mercer is your 2019 SoCon Champions (tied with Furman...of course) & a threat to beat ANYONE in the Playoffs.

2) D pitches another stinker of a season OR sucky ST play...6-5, at best. Prolly 5-6...maybe worse.

Did I say Mercer would definitively be 15-0 OR 0-11? Nope.

So, no...you silly analogizer. Go back to that henhouse just on the outskirts of Angel, AL, fire up that birdbrain, and try again.

BTW, y’all ... here’s PROOF of another TRUTH that FUBeAR has been tryin’ to clue y’all bullheaded pups into for years!

Best Cities to Live in Georgia – 2019

The Peach State is diverse and beautiful, home to big cities and peaceful rural towns, sandy beaches and jaw dropping mountain ranges. Whether you prefer urban nightlife, or outdoor recreation, Georgia has what you are looking for. If you are wondering which city in Georgia is the right place for you to settle down, this closer look at the state’s five most liveable cities should point you in the right direction.

1. Roswell - Georgia’s best city to live in is Roswell, located in Fulton County and situated around many beautiful natural features including Vickery Creek and the Chattahoochee River. For its modest size, Fulton is home to the headquarters of several large businesses, including Pharsalia Technologies and Tripwire Interactive, that provide jobs to the city’s residents.

2. Macon - Macon, located smack dab in the center of the state, is justifiably known as ‘The Heart of Georgia”. The city is large, with a population of over 150,000, and packs a lot into its confines. Residents enjoy a multitude of museums, theaters, and annual festivals. Additionally, Macon is home to a number of universities and colleges.

As a 20+ year resident of Roswell, FUBeAR knows what good looks like!

To Funky - You have to understand that FUBeAR is bipolar. That has to be true for anyone to be a fan of Furman AND Mercer. He is a former O-Lineman, so he probably has had some concussion issues. Granted he is, however, an encyclopedia of football knowledge. We, of this Board, also know that he is a "pocket" Samford Football Fan, so he is tolerated. :D

To FUB - Funkychicken, man with the world's best avatar, is our longtime resident JSU fan and a valued contributor to this Board. FYI, he is a resident of the state of Georgia and not a surburb of Angel Alabama(I had to Google that one LOL). As for Macon:https://wgxa.tv/news/local/fbi-violent-crime-up-property-crime-down-in-macon-metro-area. I know watch for incoming counter data or North B'ham comparison. We wore that discussion out several years ago.

To BearDownMU - Glad you are back. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't you the guy that had some VERY serious medical problems? If so, there were many prayers lifted up in your behalf, I know this for a fact, as I was one of those that included you in my daily devotional. WELCOME BACK!!!

I’m familiar with FC & his (normally) excellent ‘work’ here. Didn’t tell him to go to HIS RESIDENCE to come up with a better jab. Didn’t say “suburb of.” Was directing him to the JSU (pretty cool that they state their admissions philosophy in the acronym for the ‘school’ - Just Show Up) - henhouse...located in the seedy section of Angel.

Hey... new slogan for the hometown of the Samford Bullpups https://www.forbes.com/pictures/mlj45jggj/birmingham-ala-2/#9e0d55747e29

“Come Live ( hopefully) in Birmingham - we’re not quite as bad as Detroit, St Louis, or Memphis.

And...yes, we are all blessed to have BearDownMU walking the earth & interwebs with us. I think the Lord decided to heal BDMU because His answering machine kept overflowing. Thanks for your part in that effort!
