Basketball Schedule

Postby sudog03 » Thu Dec 07, 2017 1:36 pm

Loyola-Chicago went into #5 Florida and won last night. Per Massey ratings we have played the toughest schedule so far in the league. Let's take our medicine Saturday, win those last 3 non-conference games, hopefully get Wyatt healthy and get ready for league play. We open SoCon play with a 3 game homestand. With that and those last 3 non-conference games, we have a chance to get some real momentum going for the last half of the season.

In an imperfect world, absolute truth is divisive. There's no unity in truth. Decide then whether truth before unity or unity before truth?

LOL. I'm trying man. It's either try to talk myself into this season getting salvaged or get myself excited for spring football.

Valpo is 8-0 too although that win streak probably ends tonight with a game against Purdue.

03's right. We've played a tough schedule. We haven't played well against it, but we've played tough teams. Arkansas will make the tournament probably, and I could see them as a 6-seed or higher. There's plenty to play for, and SoCon play is important. But all that matters is four days in Asheville.

The SoCon is very important because it determines how we set ourselves up for those four days in Asheville. We need to be positioning ourselves for a quality seed and that begins on day one of the conference schedule.

Sure. Need to avoid the 4-in-4 schedule for the tournament, but once you're above that threshold you're good.

Yeah, personally, I'm not a big fan of the thinking that all that matters is the conference tournament. In fact, I think that run to the semi's last year, gave us an inflated view of where we were as a program. Unfortunately, I think we were much closer to the team that finished 7th in the league and lost it's last home game to Citadel. We've needed to take a serious look at our philosophy based on our personnel for some time. That finish to the season and the undue hype around it may have prevented us from taking a hard look at ourselves. If nothing else, I hope this start to the season has caused a re-evalution of what we are and hope to see a style like I did Tuesday night going forward.

I hate to say it, but I agree with 03 again. In my world, I like to think I've been a good influence on him and we are now seeing the fruit of my labor . . . . 03 is making sense.
