Oh yeah, wasn't making a concession. Hopefully will be a top 10 matchup when the game rolls around. If so, would have to be one of the marquee FCS non-conference games of the season.

Is there any reason to think Wofford won't take a *huge* step back in the transition from the Mike Ayers Era to the Guy Who Isn't Mike Ayers Era?

Hard to envision Wofford football being as good/better without Mike Ayers as it was with him.

My personal opinion, but I don't think they'll be as good. Wofford was imminently beatable in 2017 and played a lot of extremely close games. They lost a lot of their coaching staff and some key players, including much of their offensive line and QB.

In 2018, they'll play most of their toughest games (Furman, Samford, WCU) on the road. They are also on the road 5 out of 7 weeks from September 29 to November 10. That won't be an easy road.

That said, they do return a number of folks on defense, including their defensive line, who is their great equalizer. Conklin is a defensive guy, but has never been a head coach.

Apparently Concordia was not available. They will be closing at the end of the spring semester.

As soon as they grounded the Concorde, you knew Concordia was not far behind.

Shorter doesn't measure up, by the way. That's setting the bar pretty low.
