3 HHS Dog's Neat Bracket (Mrs 77SU)
5 77SU's Amazing Bracket

picks/points, what's the difference.

You win by scoring more points, not by getting the most picks right. So the real trick to winning it isn’t to pick all the upsets in the first round but to make sure your final four picks aren’t defeated in the first round. So thanks Michigan for saving my bracket with a miracle 3 at the buzzer.

Jay is correct in his assessment of the situation. The board has almost flipped completely from weekend one to weekend two. Here are the standings:

1 DC Int'l 64 points
1 77SU 64 points
3 Jay 62 points
3 RTM 62 points
3 The Cat 62 points
6 Cujo 59 points
7 SU 97 58 points
7 HHS Dogs 58 points

My point was that 97 said DC has a certain number of “picks” right when she was referring to the number of “points” he had. I was “picking” on her.

This point system is about who comes close to picking the overall winner of the whole thing. Michigan wins and Jay wins.

LOL. By the way, there is no ignoring that Jay has done a misearable job with his picks, yet if Michigan wins he wins this thing. When I say misearable, he was a full 10 picks (not points, I’m talking picks) behind everyone else after the first two rounds. His only (and I mean ONLY) chance was for some crazy pick like Michigan to make it to the championship game (does anyone remember the lucky 3 ball that saved them from going home early?). Then with all the upsets, they have not played a really good team yet and they get Loyal Chicago in the final four. The final four!!! Loyal Chicago is what stands between Jay and a win!!! Now he looks like an evil genius.

I picked the wrong upsets early, but 3/4 of my final four survived. Michigan had a favorable draw, was playing well, and had time off. I really felt if they could survive the rust of not playing for 10 days, they'd be set up to make a long run. Loyola is freaking good though and they have Sister Jean. But I've been known as an evil genius for years. In past years, this is exactly how I won the bracket challenge. You can't win the bracket game in the first weekend, but you can lose it. Go Blue!!!

One pick from winning it all. Instead, 6th. About what I deserved given my early performance. Villanova reminded me of my teams the last few years but they had defense too. Incredible run and tourney!
