UNA Basketball

The Lions didn't renew their basketball coach's contract because they're moving to D1 and want to make a big, splashy A-Sun entrance. Apparently, the names floating around for that job are TJ Cleveland, Phil Pearson, James Strong, Cliff Warren, Tony Pujol, Brock Morris (LSU-Alexandria), and Brock Morris. My hunch is that the top tier has to be Cleveland, Pearson, or Strong.

Good luck to whoever gets it. They're gonna need it. Hope they like long road trips.

Any truth that 77 submitted HCSP resume?
In an imperfect world, absolute truth is divisive. There's no unity in truth. Decide then whether truth before unity or unity before truth?

Ol' dude survived adolescence with the last name "Poo Hole." I'm pretty sure he can survive being a D1 basketball coach at a transitional school with a low budget.

Wonder if he was their first choice? Hoopdirt said they aren’t paying for a third assistant and making coach keep one of the current assistants and it caused some friction with some of the candidates.
If true that seems really odd to me- you wanna play ball with the big boys but can’t shell out $50k for a third assistant? You can’t go to the tournament for 4 years, I would want all the recruiting help I could get

Line I'm sure will be used in the press conference: "I wasn't my wife's first choice either, but she seems to be pretty happy."

AP I hear it came down to him and the Belmont assistant. I don’t know anything about the Alexandria coach but have heard that Phillip Pearson had a horrible interview. I think it was close but Pujol was the unanimous choice.
UNA will win in every sport. FYI they will have plenty of money for a third Coach. Just take a look around campus and walk in Flowers Hall. They have spent a fortune on basketball. I fear they will spend to much on basketball just like they do at a school I love in Homewood.
