ESPN PLUS

The SoCon's(and I suppose some other conferences) agreement with ESPN was to allow the media to stream games free(technically not free, but through carriers such as Spectrum) on ESPN3 until the recent April date. Now, many of those free ESPN3 games will be switched to the new ESPN+ which is $4.99/month. For example, want to watch Samford Baseball play vs UNCG next weekend? If you do, you have to subscribe to the new Plus. Right now there is a 30 day free trial, then the monthly fee. I suppose the SoCon Digital will continue to exist with fewer and fewer games of importance, but I'm not sure what will happen to this. Frankly, I was pretty well pleased with the SDN streaming. I'm sure I will have to pay, as I can't imagine missing the video of our teams.
Hate to see this come about. Just wondered if y'all knew about it?

This stinks, but I'm not stunned. If ESPN can monetize something, they will. "As we celebrate mediocrity, all the boys upstairs want to see/How much you'll pay for what you used to get for free."
