Heading into the final weekend, we look fairly certain for the 2nd or 3rd seed in the tourney. If we were to get swept by VMI, it would open the door to a 4 seed, so we need to play well. If we can just win the weekend series it would lock up the 2nd seed. A series win this weekend would also give us, I believe, our best league winning percentage ( 16-8, .667) since joining the league. We went 19-11 (.633) in 2012 when we won the tourney and went to the NCAA's. So we have a lot to play for.

Don't take this VMI team too lightly, as they are maybe the surprise team of the SoCon this season. They are a pretty good team, that could actually finish ahead of us with a sweep this weekend. They have wins over 2 ranked teams this year in South Carolina and Virginia. We need to play well like, like 03 says, because the Terriers are also nipping at our heels.

Side note: How about true Fr. Brooks Carlson!!!

Samford wins the first one.

Series won, mission accomplished, also kept some big time powder dry by not having to pitch Sam Strickland. Dogs get the #2 seed and open play Wednesday at 3, against _urman.
