As a Mercer Fan you noticed our running game last year?
You should have noticed your own in our matchup.
First Downs Rushing: Samford 7 Mercer 5
Total Net Rushing: Samford 98 Mercer 33 :o

Average Yds/Carry for Mercer 1.3 yards.

No doubt you are SO qualified to critique our rushing game.

Wow - I'm surprised Mercer did that well that day. Based on learning these stats, I'm going to move the Hindenburg Disaster one rung higher on my All-Time list.

So you think FSU is going to take that much out of your pups, huh?

Can’t wait!

I just REALLY HOPE that the Hokies take lots out of the Noles 5 days before they see us.

Brian is an alumnus of the University of Florida School of Journalism and has previously worked with such publications as The Sporting News and Parade Magazine. In 2015 he teamed with HERO Sports and he covers college football in the southeastern region of the country. This includes the FCS conferences of The Southland, Big South, OVC, and our SoCon. I like to hear him on a podcast called 'FCS Breakdown' which airs out of NDSU country. He is an FCS guru and 'Johnny Appleseed' messenger for the FCS.

WELCOME: Brian McLaughlin

Here is his latest podcast. Scroll down past the Recruiting link to the June 29 audio podcast. SoCon/Samford mentions near the beginning, but after that WAY WAY too much JSU.

Thank you! Wow. Johnny Appleseed? I never thought about it that way but I think you're reading that well. And trust me, Devlin and I will be in touch this fall as much as Coach Hatch and the SID office will allow. I have strong feelings about Samford this year. Loved the strides the Bulldogs made on defense last year, and we all know what they can do on O. I'm really curious to see if the NFL picks up on Devlin like they did with Kyle Lauletta at Richmond. Devlin's a great guy and we look forward to documenting his senior season. I'll be on SoCon, OVC and Southland specifically, along with Big South (Kennesaw). PS -- I don't think your Samford board is "little". Seems pretty diehard to me!

Well, I was gonna weigh in wondering why he’s slumming around in the OVC at all, but, as a Mercer Bears Fan, I’m now offended, so I won’t.

BTW - can’t spell “slumming” without SU neither.

Man, I love it when the damned smack talk starts way early. That's what I'm talking about!!!!

I’m everyone’s favorite poster. Nothing new to see here.

Seriously, it is always all in fun. Without our rivals (who suck), we’d have nobody to play with. Rivalries make it fun if you keep it all in fun. Heck, there is nothing more fun that beating Furman, Mercer and JSU and trading smack talk with good humored posters like that dimwit from Mercer.
In an imperfect world, absolute truth is divisive. There's no unity in truth. Decide then whether truth before unity or unity before truth?
