Chattanooga Game

What a finish! We had so many chances to win it in regulation. Took control in OT, then almost gave it away. But these kids don't quit. That's what stands out about them, especially recently. We have good talent but these kids really battle especially when the chips are down

I'd asked about Dye being it before. Now I heard announcer say his foot is broken. Do we know how long you'll be out?

Great win. Thought our kids just kept fighting. Good sign.

Was good to see that one live and in person. Lots of heart and better execution in OT than we saw late in regulation. Looked for a while like neither team wanted it.

For those of you scoring at home, SU Dog looked like he hasn't aged a day.

Thanks AP. It was good seeing and talking with you. Maybe it's your presence that we need to get those W's.

68, I sort of had the same thought about the game. Our team has a lot of fight. The thought came to me, not just this game, but also Furman and Wofford and others. The thought was: “Samford is hard to beat, but they have a hard time winning too.” We can be so sloppy with the ball, miss critical game winning lay ups and free throws, but then fight to the last second and be in the things when all hope looked lost 30 seconds before. We are scrappy and seem to have some chemistry. The will to win is there and the never say die attitude is there. Now we just have to put together the concentration to win the game when we have the chance to win the game with the game on the line. We already said we can beat anyone and anyone can beat us. Being a Samford fan is not for the faint of heart. I like this team. The last four games are going to be interesting. I’d love to knock off Wofford and end their unbeaten conference season. We can do it, but it will take execution and nerves of steal when we have the chance. I know the heart and the effort will be there.
In an imperfect world, absolute truth is divisive. There's no unity in truth. Decide then whether truth before unity or unity before truth?

Yeah, want that one back against Woff, but as I said before, this team is one game at a time. Because as we all agree, they can beat it lose to anyone. Gotta beat Mercer because they're next.

Gotta close strong if we want to get to .500 in the SoCon. Need to win 3 of 4 to get to 9-9 in a very strong league. On the road to Mercer and Cid with the last home weekend of _urman (KenPom #52) and Wofford (#28) is a tall task. Would have been nice to have the road losses to utC and Western, or the home loss to Mercer, in the bag to give us a better shot at that goal.

But 4 SoCon teams in the KenPom top 100 is a big deal. We've got 6 in the top half of D1, and only 1 below 300. (Compare that to the OVC, which has 2 in the top 100, four in the top half of D1, and 3 below 300.)

Amazing. Typically a good year for the league is the 15-17 range.

It really is impressive.

Not to focus too much on the RPI, but as the 11th best conference in the country we are ahead of leagues like C-USA, the A-10, and the Missouri Valley.

Wofford is knocking on the door of the top 25 in both polls. They would be the second SoCon team to be ranked this season. Furman is still receiving votes in the latest coaches poll.
