I had kids' bday parties today, so only checked in on the basketball score sporadically. With a few minutes left in OT, Samford was up by a couple buckets. I felt pretty good until I checked in again in a half hour and we lost. What in the freaking world.

I turned it on about 5 minutes into the second half when we were up by 6 and El Cid was catching up from their 10-point halftime deficit, according to the announcer. At the end of regulation we were lucky to get to OT. We were up by 5 and let the other dogs out.

For me, the Mercer loss was much more perplexing. We were coming off a big win, playing against a team that had beaten us 11 straight times. A win would have given us a stranglehold on a top 6 seed. Ton to play for. Annnnnnd, we come out and get down by 21 at one point in the first half. We reacted well, and got back in the game, but the woeful start did us in. It seems our destiny to play on Friday night in Asheville.
