Another former SU MBB player in the postseason

Just flipped channels over to the NIT game between UNCG and Lipscomb. Promptly heard the announcer say, “former Samford player Matt Rose.” He’s listed as a senior and is helping Lipscomb give UNCG problems.

And the Lipscomb Bisons, with Matt Rose, advances.

Watching Windler's brother and reading stories about SU players moving on to success elsewhere and remembering about how many were saying 'Drew was cut.' 'run off' 'Just didn't fit.' 'Did they have to be so rough?' I never bought it. He was one of the best players in the league. Now that I see that under two successive coaches we have departures every year and then see those players succeed to getting degrees, I just laugh and laugh. I know people were wanting to give the new coach(s) the benefit of the doubt but it's been clear from the beginning of the post nCJT error that retaining players has been an issue that remains unaddressed.

Your point is well taken Big Dog, but I do not think the 2 Windlers are related - please correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought it was his little brother. I see from his bio, I was won't. Either way, it got me thinking about the topic of my post.

There will be a former SU playing in the NIT Final Four in Madison Square Garden. Either Matt Rose or Wyatt Walker. Right now the Wolfpack has a 40-35 lead over the Bisons.

Lipscomb takes the win and will play at MSG next week.
