Softball Transfers

Two from Mississippi State announced today. Infielder O'Neil Roberson was an incredible player at Oak Mountain HS. She won almost every award the state had. She was All-State, Hitter of the Year, and set a homerun record at OMHS. Roberson was listed as the #33 recruit in the nation.

The other players is Grace Dabbs of Philadelphia MS. Dabbs was All-State at a lower division HS, but was a base stealing phenom, having stole 74 bases in 77 attempts for her career. She had one against Samford last year. :D Dabbs also has shown some power at the plate in very limited action. She was 4-5 and three of those four were for extra bases. Because of her speed, one of those hits was an inside the park home run.

These players join Maddie Dorsett who transferred from State to Samford last year. The two new players played for the Birmingham Thunderbolts, a softball developmental program in Irondale. The Bolts have 3 practice fields and a 13,000 SF indoor practice facility there. Every year they put players into P5 schools including many SEC programs. O'Neil Roberson's father is the coach...hmmmm, could this become a pipeline for Mandy?
