Not surprisingly it wasn’t pretty for Samford. And Hatcher didn’t win coach of the year.

I think sudog03 alluded to this in a previous post, but we have to get a lot better at the QB spot. We can't rely on the defense to carry this team. Unless we are ready to morph into a heavy run team, the direction of the offense and in turn the direction of the team itself starts with the QB. QB turnovers were a real problem for us this past season. You expect a certain number of INTs given how much we throw the ball, but our QBs laid the ball on the turf far far too many times.

Come August, we start with an open slate at QB in my opinion. We don't really have a number one heading into next fall. Neither Welch nor Oladokun seemed to improve much as the season progressed and that is concerning as we head into next season. Neither earned the right to be crowed number one once fall begins.

Careful what you say smurf, LOL. FUBeAR has warned us that Coach is planning for Ty Hatcher to be the one.

This Family Over Everything (FOE) that started with the basketball program might really be catching on.

Serious question though. Can he play?

No I-deer if he can play @ SoCon level. Maybe not or maybe he’s Samford’s next Starting NFL QB, but, speaking as someone who Coached kids for about 10 years - from Flag up to to 7A GA HS ball - I’m almost 100% certain his Mama says he can dang-sure play; and if she’s like almost all the other Mama’s of the 100’s of kids I Coached, she says it often & she says it loudly.

If #2 & #7 didn’t get it done for the HomewoodHounds in 2019, I’m pretty certain that #18 will be getting a good share of Reps with the #1’s in Spring Practice, 2020.

He wasn't good enough to be the starter at Homewood High, so....

I think based on our QB signees last season (xfer with 2 years left and a HS QB) along with having, I believe, 2 HS Qb's committed for the 2020 class, the "plan" so to speak seems to be quite the opposite. Given that he has been on the team for 2 seasons now and had very limited playing time, it seems to be no more than wishful thinking on FuBear's part.

I’m counting on the kid from Prattville.
