Samford snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Candidly, I gave up watching in the first half because winning or not, the way we play is just plain ugly. I mean, for my taste, it really is not that much fun to watch. Notwithstanding, I was pleasantly surprised when I checked the score on twitter that we came back and won. Results matter, so we are 1-0 in the conference and 1-0 in the conference is about as good as it gets after one game.

Have to win the games you are supposed to win. Baby steps, 77, baby steps--you have to walk before you can run. Having a hard time seeing us reach .500 in league play even after that momentous win over the Citadel.

Anyone know if any of the players on the bench will be eligible/well by next semester? I'm asking for a friend.

Tip-off is noon today against a VMI Team that plays far better at home than on the road. I know that is true of all teams, but I think it is particularly evident with the Keydets. They are NOT as bad as you might think, IMO. We have won 9 straight against them, and this might be one of the few chances we have of picking up a conference road win. BTW, for entertainment purposes ONLY, I see the bookies actually have VMI as a 1 point favorite.

I remember SU DOG hyping VMI back in the fall...and as it turns out, he was right. We lost.

God help us if we lose to VMI in both football and basketball in the same school year.

In all fairness, he hypes everyone, so he’s bound to be right every now and then. LOL. Jk

Any win on the road is a “good” win. 2-0 is 2-0 no matter how you look at it. You have to beat the teams you should beat, and we did that with the first two games. We have to play a lot better if we are going to compete with the rest of the league.

Austin looked to be carrying a shoulder injury Wednesday night. Really had to gut through that game. I think I saw him in street clothes on the bench yesterday.

Road league wins are fantastic.
