...You will not be attending. The NCAA has locked out the fans because of the Kung Flu.

Just saw that. Won’t cancel hotel reservation yet. I have until 11:59pm EDT next Monday after the selection show.

Wonder if they will let us come down for the watch party?

SU men's basketball was really on the cutting edge of this. They haven't had anyone show up to watch them play for months now.

Based on the statement that students have until 5pm Monday to retrieve belongings from campus and leave until suspension is lifted, there probably won’t be an open watch party for WBB.

Given how all of this is so quickly escalating, I would not be shocked if there is no NCAA tournament this year.

That was the topic of discussion this morning on ESPN. Sir Charles Barkley was on the phone saying CBS and Turner should advocate for either a cancellation or a delay. He was saying that CBS and Turner should give their billion dollar check to the NCAA and call it over, rather than having student athletes going all over the country sweating and jumping on each other, along with coaches, support personnel, refs, and family members, only to go back home with the virus.

I read a quote from an MLB executive yesterday who was asked about what baseball might do. When asked about possible workaround scenarios, he said that he didn't think it would come to that. He said he thought the decision would probably be taken out of their hands. The NCAA stands to lose a ton of money if they cancel, but if the government institutes greater restrictions to that degree, there will be no tourney. I would sure hat that for our gals though....bad bad luck.

We will all gather at the local Sports bar to watch the games, so will they have to close those down too?

I hear the bleating of panicked sheep running toward the cliff (with tons of toilet paper and hand sanitizer on their backs, but no common sense or independent thought--lambs to the slaughter of their plutonic guardians).
In an imperfect world, absolute truth is divisive. There's no unity in truth. Decide then whether truth before unity or unity before truth?

To put the situation in perspective, and with numbers from the CDC, the plain ol’ flu bug kills 12-15 thousand Americans every year AND pneumonia kills 50 thousand every year. Where’s the hand wringing over those ailments?

While it is commendable to take preventive measures, some of these actions seem like overkill.
