Isn't that how we got Padgett to begin with? We fired a guy who was a train wreck and had to buy him out and we went with (had to go with) the internal inexpensive option? We see how that worked out. Who are we going to promote from within? Oh crap!!!!! Son of a gun, if we end up with a new starting qb and a new head men's basketball coach . . . .

Now there are four. Tarleton hired Billy Gillespie, exactly a week after the previous coach stepped away.

We are waiting to see what happens with the November elections.

The candidates both political and coaching, all come highly recommended.

Based on the interview from yesterday, our AD stated that the process for hiring a new coach was on the back-burner, not only because of Covid-19, but also because recruiting has been in a dead period. The NCAA has just extended the dead period until May 31, 2020. So are we going to wait until June to hire a coach?

Don't know, but I think it's important to keep in mind that recruits can still be contacted, just not any visits. With the scholarships open, and existing roster members in the transfer portal, I think it would be important to have a HC contacting those kids before then. I can assure you other HCs are recruiting via phone/text right now.

Probably texting the recruits to come play for their school rather than the apparent dumpster fire on Lakeshore.
