WBB Possible Transfer

WBB Possible Transfer

Postby SU DOG » Fri Apr 10, 2020 6:02 pm

Annie Ramil is a big 6'0" strong power forward who is currently a Soph starter on a team that finished 22-9 this season. She is looking to transfer, and right now Samford is her first choice, although not a done deal. She is not a prolific scorer, but in watching her, she has good quick feet for a girl her size. She could be the replacement for Olivia Crozier who backed up Natalie, or she might be a starter at the #4 spot. Annie is not the fluid do it all type player that Sarah Myers was, but she might possibly be a good addition to the SU squad. Why New York to Samford? I have no idea.

Wouldn't she have to sit a year?

However, on this new proposed NCAA legislation - If passed(expected vote on May 20), will anybody have to sit out a year?

Seems to be a lot still in the air on that resolution, including if passed, when it would take effect.

Ramil is in - see official site. Check out this video of a BIG girl from New Orleans that should be a good addition for our Dogs.

Personally, I think this is turning into an outstanding class for WBB. To say they all come highly recommended might be a big understatement. In addition to these 2 just mentioned, a review of the others up to this point:

Mallory Hampton - 5-8 G Evensville TN. Was the 6AAA Player of the Year in Tennessee. Was offered by UAB.

Katie Jones - 5-10 G Decatur. Was the 1A Player of the Year in Alabama. Several games with over 30 points this season (bested 2000 for career).

Jaden Langford - Madison Academy - Brother of Michigan State star Josh Langford. A 5-8 lightning fast All-State guard with a 4.18 GPA. Chose Samford over offer from South Alabama and others.

Ticket prices for the ladies should go up. They won conference regular season and tournament championships. The men tied the record for most losses in a season. Samford’s marketing strategy, If our record did not drive you away, our ticket prices will.
In an imperfect world, absolute truth is divisive. There's no unity in truth. Decide then whether truth before unity or unity before truth?

Someone in the AD's office could use some help in math...
* Wasn't our avg home attendance 532? Let's say it was, for the sake of argument. Let's also say that avg ticket price was $15.
* 532 x $15 = $7980 = 798 x $10
* If a 50% increase in attendance were achievable at a 33% reduction in avg ticket price, would you do it?
* You would also have 50% more people to buy concessions.

Samford's goal should be to make MBB and WBB games the most fun, family-friendly, affordable game in town.

That's not achieved by social media campaigns.

My 2 cents from the cheap seats.
